Dyslexia Screening

Why pursue a screening rather than a full diagnostic assessment?

A screening does not provide a formal diagnosis of dyslexia but will indicate if a young person has possible dyslexic traits.  It can enable parents or educators to decide whether a formal diagnosis is necessary.

A dyslexia screener offers an efficient method to assess whether a young person is at risk of dyslexia and whether further assessment is warranted. This streamlined process quickly identifies any potential signs of dyslexia. Within a week, you will receive a concise report containing the results and personalised recommendations.

The screener will take place face to face and looks at: receptive vocabulary, phonological awareness and reading fluency.  All of these are key indicators of dyslexia. If necessary I will administer further assessments to ensure all areas of needs are investigated.
